Gabby Douglas the sixteen year old media darling claimed that she was bullied and discriminated against while she was at her old gym in Virginia. She recalled once that she was even called a “slave” by a fellow teammate. She also said she felt isolated and It was so hard even to the point she wanted to quit gymnastics altogether. Glad you didn’t Honey! The gym of course denies this, which you could assume they would.
Of course when the heat is around the corner you’re going to say it didn’t happen. Obviously Gabby doesn’t have anything to gain from lying. So instead of calling her a liar by publicly claiming it didn’t happen. Why not work with her in trying to change the atmosphere of the gym. Why not apologize to her and her family for making it so that it was even felt to be that much racial tension in your establishment. When a company that is deemed to be racist or prejudice toward a certain race YELLS that it didn’t happen possibly the worst thing they can do!!!!! WE ALL KNOW THAT TRUTH! Gabby isn’t fibbing. Gabby is just young enough to speak the truth, she probably didn’t even realize that she was creating front line news!! boy did she speak her mind!! Go head little lady keep telling the truth…like my grandmother would say the truth sounds all good just by itself. But I hope you’re ready for a Fight
the facts still remain she was the only African American in a white gym, as well as being the only African American on the USA Olympic team, the sport is majority white. So there is a higher possibility that there is some racism that does exist in the sport. SO don’t deny it…try and make it better…at least that’s what I non racist person would try and do to eliminate any misunderstanding.
While on the other hand if I where GLUITY I WOULD DENY DENY! Sweep it under the rug and keep it moving!
